Tim Allard – Senior IT Consultant, photographer and pianist!

Tim Allard

Senior IT Consultant

Tim is a Senior IT Consultant with over 20 years experience in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle. He majors in Microsoft technologies with a strong focus on SQL, data migration and messaging.

Tim has a MSc in Information Systems/Technology from the University of Brighton having studied History with German from the University of Sussex as a first degree. He enjoys client facing work equally as much as debugging javascript or SQL optimisation. Current clients include Wellcome Trust, Great Ormond Street and King’s College Hospital where he has a working relationship almost as long as his career!

Currently he is planning and supporting the implementation of a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for the Neuropathology and Histopathology departments of King’s. The system is already live in a third laboratory.

IT Architect

As well as honing existing skills, he also likes to explore recent trends in IT, such as cloud based architecture, application development frameworks and interface design. His core philosophy is to keep things as simple as possible whilst delivering solutions that deliver to user needs and expectations.

Tim also supports and advises his colleagues and clients on all aspects of IT support best practice.

And out of the office?

You will often see him cycling around the parks near his home in Surbiton and photographing wildlife. He is interested in environmental issues and enjoys playing the piano, both by himself and in a band with friends from University. He does not plan on giving up the day job just yet!
